Teacher of Latin and Classics

Overview

Classics is a growing part of our curriculum offer. We teach Latin to all students at KS3, and as a popular option in KS4. Students complete the GCSE course at the end of Y10, and then take GCSE Classical Civilisation in Y11. We are now looking to develop Classics in the sixth form – introducing Latin A Level, and supporting Classical Civilisation A Level which is already well established in the LaSWAP consortium. We may also introduce ab initio Latin and/ or Greek GCSE in Y12.

Personal attributes

The successful candidate will be passionate about learning in Classics, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring that every child achieves the highest possible standards. Extra-curricular activities, including clubs, and trips to performances and museums, are an important part of our curriculum offer.  

Salary & Benefits

Temporary, 2 years fixed term in the first instance, Inner London Pay Scale
