Year 11

Y11 Summer Term Information

All Year 11 students will be in school in their timetabled lessons until the last day of this half term (Friday 22 May). During this period, they will be completing structured revision tasks delivered by their classroom teacher. If a student has an exam later that day, then they will be allowed to revise for that exam in the classroom.

After the half term break all Y11 students will be on study leave. Subject teachers will be putting on additional revision sessions for Year 11 during this period, both during and after school. Should they have any questions or concerns, students will able to come in to speak to teachers during 'drop-in' sessions for specific subjects. The dates and times of these will be communicated with families before the half term break. The library will also be open throughout the day for silent, independent study.

Y11 Exam Preparation for Parents

On 5 May, Mr Owen hosted an online Zoom webinar for Year 11 parents and carers, focused on supporting students in the lead-up to their GCSE examinations.

The session provided practical advice on revision strategies, wellbeing, exam preparation, and ways families can help create positive study routines at home.

We held our Y11 Information Evening on 22 September where we shared important dates, guidance on supporting your child through their GCSE year, and practical revision strategies. Below, you’ll find a summary video of the evening.

Mindfulness Meditation Club

Mr Browne, Head of Religious Studies, is running a Mindfulness Meditation Club for Year 11 students on Friday lunchtimes, 1.30–2.00pm in R2B. The session will help students manage exam stress and support their overall well-being.

All Year 11 students are welcome to attend.

Friday 27 March 2026 Y11 French/Spanish GCSE speaking exam Please find the dates of the speaking exams (25% of the GCSE grade) that will take place on one of the following dates: Wednesday 22 April, Thursday 23 April, Friday 24 April, Monday 27 April, Tuesday 28 April and Wednesday 29 April.
Friday 27 March 2026 Y11 Drama GCSE exam showcase performance Y11 Drama students will be performing to an examiner on the above date. This performance will be a showcase of work from Jerusalem and a range of Shakespeare texts.
Friday 13 March 2026 Y11 families – key dates and information reminder Earlier this month I shared a letter with key information about the upcoming examination period for Y11 students. The information below is the same as that shared previously and is intended as a helpful reminder of the key dates and arrangements as we move closer to the exam season.
Friday 27 February 2026 Y11 bake sales – Y11 leavers fundraising This half term Y11s will start fundraising for their Leavers Celebration in June. The students will be running a fortnightly bake sale to help raise money for their big send off.
