Situated close to Hampstead Heath in the heart of North London, Acland Burghley is a mixed, inclusive, community comprehensive school that enjoys high levels of parental support and a close collaborative relationship with other local schools. It is part of the popular and highly successful LaSWAP post-16 consortium with Parliament Hill, La Sainte Union and William Ellis Schools, and a founder member of Camden Learning. 20 students with EHCPs have a place in the school’s specialist autism resource base. In 2020, we entered into a residency agreement with the Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment, who now work and rehearse on our site, providing a range of exciting opportunities for the whole school community.

Professional development and training
We believe in supporting the growth of our staff and hold regular reviews and opportunities to identify and meet developmental needs. We offer comprehensive Continuous Professional Development (CPD), whether you are support staff, a new teacher, experienced middle leader or have aspirations to become a senior leader. Career pathways enable staff to aspire and progress in their chosen professional direction with a focus on internal progression wherever possible. In addition, we encourage our staff to learn from each other and collaborate on a variety of working groups.
Our commitment and support to new teachers whilst they undertake their two-year ECT programme is outstanding.
A collaborative approach, enables staff to benefit from a range of internal and external activities and support throughout their careers. We have also developed and are continuing to develop internal training programmes, which help staff gain the skills they need to advance.

Employee Assistance Programme and staff wellbeing
As a staff member at Acland Burghley, you will be entitled to support from the Employee Assistance Programme.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The organisation will aid with any work, personal or family issues. There will be a professional consultation, short term counselling, information, resources and referrals to services in your local area.
We have a staff wellbeing committee, which we encourage you to join. There is also a staff wellbeing section in the library and half–termly staff wellbeing surveys.
Excellent transport links and travel to work schemes
Acland Burghley is located just two minutes walk away from Tufnell Park tube station. Gospel Oak and Kentish Town stations are also a short walk away. Staff also have the benefit of a dedicated staff car park, a train ticket loan scheme, a cycle-to-work scheme and regular visits from Bike Doctor which is a free service available to staff.
Staff social events
Our staff enjoy informal social gatherings and hold quiz nights, games nights and BBQs. We also have a number of staff activities on offer such as football every Friday, a staff choir and regular social events with our OAE partners.
Staff room refreshments
Staff have access to an excellent staff room and kitchen, including free tea and coffee.
