Year 10

It was fantastic to see so many parents and carers (in person and online) at the recent Information Evening. Thank you to all those who came. If you missed it, then a link to the recording is below.

It is great to see the increased focus throughout the year group as we approach the Mid Year Assessments. They are a fantastic opportunity for students to develop good habits and a familiarity with the examination process that will prepare them for June 2026.

Whilst we do not expect students to be putting in the total number hours that will be required for success next year, we do expect students to be approaching them with a mature mindset and making the most of the learning experience. We hope after the assessment period they will have a better understanding of:

  • Which subjects they are doing well in, and those where they need support
  • Which topics (within each subject) they will need to focus on to help improve their grade in the End of Year Assessments in July. This will be effectively supported by conversations at Parents' Evening on Thursday 27 March.
  • How and where they revise most effectively
  • How to plan ahead and prepare for a high number of assessments in a relatively short space of time
Below I have included some useful links that will help parents support their child’s learning:
  1. Overall Curriculum Map (including subject exam boards)
  2. Mid-Year Assessment Timetable
  3. Subject Specific Revision Guidance

For the most detailed subject-specific curriculum information, please make full use of the subject pages under the Curriculum dropwdown.

As always, form tutors continue to be the first point of contact for day-to-day queries and issues that may arise so please reach out to them if you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s progress. Tutors are also the first point of contact for students as they are the staff member that will see them most over the course of the week.

For wider questions or serious concerns about progress and behaviour, please continue to contact myself via email at wallen@aclandburghley.camden.sch.uk

We are really excited to be supporting the students as they go through the next 18 months at Acland Burghley, and look forward to working with you closely as we aim for the best possible outcomes for them all.
