In order to pass the expeditions, the students are required to cook, clean, camp, navigate and hike for themselves in groups. As well as undertaking 3 months of volunteering, skills development and physical development. We are committed to Duke of Edinburgh being as inclusive as possible and would like to remind families if any equipment needs to be borrowed to let the school know.
All the students are really excited and when the time comes, we would love any photos you have of them setting off, or practicing putting up tents or packing their oversized bags. For the Hampstead Heath Walk, students just need walking shoes and clothes they are happy to get muddy, while for Robertsbridge they need to follow the full kit list.
We will be assessing the success of having 2 separate groups, as it has allowed us to take more students than ever before, before opening up to current Y9s at the end of the academic year.
If you have any questions, please just let us know, and as massive thank you to families, and the Y10 tutors and teachers who have made it possible to take our largest ever intake of students
