Y11 Information Evening
Thursday 17 September 5.30-6.30pm
Performing Arts Hall
As your child begins what will be an important year, we want to make sure that you feel well prepared and confident about how you can support them throughout Y11.
The evening will give you a clear picture of what the year ahead will look and feel like, taking you through the key milestones and events from September through to the GCSE examinations.
We will also share practical advice and strategies that we believe make the biggest difference to students, drawing not only on our experience as teachers, but also on what students tell us has worked best for them and what parents and carers have found most helpful at home.
We will cover:
- The Year 11 timeline – the key milestones, events and expectations across the year
- How you can support your child – practical strategies for helping them stay organised, motivated and focused
- Revision that works – the approaches we believe are most effective, including how you can support revision at home
- The support we will provide – the academic, pastoral and wider support available to students throughout the year
- The November mock examinations – what students can expect and how they can begin preparing effectively
- Looking ahead to Post-16 – an introduction to the options and pathways available after Y11
Our aim is for you to leave the evening with a clear understanding of the year ahead, practical ideas you can use at home, and confidence about how we will work together to support your child.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP by completing this short form.
Please enter via the Burghley Road entrance. Our student ambassadors will be there to welcome you and escort you to the Performing Arts Hall.
We appreciate that not every parent or carer will be able to attend in person. We will therefore record a shorter version of the presentation, which will be made available on the Y11 section of our website, alongside the key resources and PowerPoint from the evening.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and to working with you throughout what we hope will be a successful and rewarding Y11 for your child.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
All the best,
Sean McHugh
