Valencia trip 2026

The Y11 Spanish trip has arrived! Families can keep checking back to this page throughout the trip for new pictures and stories.

Day 1

A tour guide introduced Valencia on the group's coach trip from the airport to their hostel in the old town. Students also visited the beach and enjoyed the pretty gardens of the city. For dinner students sampled a wide variety of starters and mains at the all-you-can-eat buffet, including the famous Valencian specialty Paella, followed by many Spanish desserts!

Day 2

Great day  starting with the modernist train station, then learning about the history of bullfighting at the bull ring museum. This was followed by a visit to the medieval silk exchange before lunch in the central market. In the afternoon the group had a tour of the Mestalla football stadium, a pit stop in the supermarket for snacks, then some down time in the Turia gardens. The students finished the day with dinner and bowling.

Day 3

On Day3, the group visited many museums, including the science museum where they had the chance to vote in this year’s fallas competition, the oceanografic aquarium, and the Fallas museum where they learnt more about the famous festival.

Day 4

Last day in Valencia was busy! The group went up the medieval towers for a great view and then enjoyed some traditional music and dancing in the lead up to Las Fallas. This was followed by a visit to the Museo de Bellas Artes to see paintings by Goya, Velasquez and Sorolla. After lunch, there was some time for food and gift shopping around the main square before heading back to the hostel to pack up.
