Celebrating LaSWAP Y13 exam results

We are thrilled to announce the fantastic results of our Y13 LaSWAP students, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards university, careers, and overall wellbeing. A significant majority of our students have secured their first or second choice university offers at top institutions or industry-based courses, including LaSWAP’s first cohort of T level students. Many students have not only met but exceeded their targets, showcasing inspiring individual success stories across the consortium. Higher Education progression rates are impressive, with students pursuing a diverse range of courses in STEM, humanities, business, social sciences, and creative industries. Notably, many students have secured places at prestigious Russell Group universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, and international institutions in Rotterdam and France, amongst others.

LaSWAP, London’s longest-standing consortium of school Sixth Forms, comprises La Sainte Union, William Ellis, Acland Burghley, and Parliament Hill. It offers a comprehensive range of post-16 study opportunities to young people with diverse interests, academic starting points and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our A Level performance is comparable to many more selective institutions, reflecting a strong work ethic and conscientious determination among our students. With over 1000 A level, technical and vocational qualifications taken this summer, LaSWAP students have achieved fantastic results across a broad range of subjects, with 25% of A level grades an A or A*. This success underscores our commitment to supporting students through exceptionally challenging personal circumstances, providing them with essential pastoral and wellbeing support.

As well as A Levels, the consortium has huge success in vocational and technical subjects, and this year has seen our first cohort of T Level students receive results. Media, Broadcast and Production has a 100% pass rate, with an exceptional 85% of students achieving a Merit grade or better and progressing to courses at universities such as UAL, City St George’s and BIMM. La Sainte Union’s popular Health and Social Care course has seen students progress to competitive courses at the prestigious King’s College, Birmingham, Liverpool and more. The next academic year sees an expansion of these courses, with Level 2 Health and Social Care and T level Health (Midwifery and Nursing) providing broad and varied progression in Allied Health and social care pathways.

LaSWAP offers a wide range of post-16 study opportunities to local young people with diverse interests. Many of our students, who may not have been admitted to advanced level courses elsewhere, have achieved excellent grades and secured progression into Higher Education. Students from disadvantaged backgrounds have achieved extremely good results, including A* grades in A Levels and Distinction* in BTEC, progressing to competitive courses and universities.

Congratulations to all our students. They have achieved excellent results and have been a delight to teach. We wish them every success in the future. This year has seen the biggest set of results, as well as the best set of results since curriculum reform for the consortium. We’re pleased that out of all the grades awarded, 25% are A and A* and 82% are C and above. We’re also extremely proud of our strong vocational results and the first cohort who completed the Media, Broadcast and Production T Level at Acland Burghley with over 80% of those achieving a merit or distinction.
